The Christian Schools Canada Conference 2024 aims to inspire and equip you as a Christian school leader to navigate your leadership journey with your focus on Christ as the ultimate source of hope. How do you keep your community from getting stuck in division and conflict? How can you remain grounded and hospitable? What steps can you take right now towards being a leader who is Called vocationally into Christian school leadership, who is Connected relationally to enable the flourishing of children, adults, teams, and communities, and who is Committed to sustaining long-term engagement in realizing a vision of Christian education?
We invite you to dialogue and explore these questions and more through 2 days of keynotes, breakout sessions, networking, and times of refreshment with your fellow school leaders across the country.
Keynote Speakers
Rev. Dr. Matthew Kaemingk is a Christian ethicist and public theologian, author, and speaker. He directs the Mouw Institute of Faith and Public Life at Fuller Theological Seminary and is a scholar-in-residence at the De Pree Center for Christian Leadership.
Matthew is excited to connect with you in Halifax and share how Christian leaders can maintain both convicted civility and generous hospitality as you Journey With Hope.
Dr. Beth Green is a Cardus senior fellow and the provost of Tyndale University in Toronto, Ontario. Her scholarship focuses on the intersection of faith, learning, and formation and their impact on culture and society. She is the deputy editor of the International Journal for Christianity and Education and a sought-after consultant.

Conference Venues
The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21
1055 Marginal Rd, Halifax, NS B3H 4P7
For over 40 years beginning in 1928, Halifax played a significant role in welcoming immigrants to Canada. – In fact, one of every five Canadians is related to someone who passed through Halifax’s Pier 21.
We will kick off the CSC Conference with a welcome reception and opening session here on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Take in the artifacts and stories at this national historic site as you reunite with your fellow school leaders from across the country. You’ll walk through the same doors and spaces where approximately one million immigrants arrived for the first time in Canada.
The Lord Nelson Hotel
1515 South Park Street, Halifax, NS B3J 2L2
The Lord Nelson Hotel, located across from the Halifax Public Gardens and one block from the Citadel, will be our ‘home base’ for the conference.
Conference attendees will need to book your own accommodations. Breakfast at The Lord Nelson is included for all attendees on Thursday and Friday.
The conference hotel room block is now FULL. A limited number of hotel rooms and suites may still be available but must be booked directly. Let them know you are with "Christian Schools Canada Conference" in case any rooms in the room block have opened up at the special rate.
The Cable Wharf
1751 Lower Wharf Street, Halifax, NS B3J 1S5
On Thursday, September 26, 2024, join your fellow attendees for dinner on the waterfront at The Cable Wharf.
This historic pier was built in 1913 by the Western Union Telegraph Company to serve as a the primary cable ship port and service call depot for the transatlantic cable. It remains today as one of the last original structures on the harbourfront.
Your dinner experience is included in your registration for the conference.
